Description: This listing is for 1940s party invitations called "Forget Me Nots". These invitations were made as part of a series of cards that were made then, included wonderful die cut greeting cards. There are 7 cards and 7 envelopes out of an original 10 pieces. They are still wrapped in their "glassine" (a light weight waxed paper) packaging, which was very popular in the 1940s. This type of packaging was very popular in the middle of the last century, until cellophane became widely used. The cards are called "quarto fold" as they are made from paper that is printed and then folded into 4ths. The cards are small, measuring 4" by 3". They can be for most any party - they are floral and could be for any type of shower, afternoon tea, or whatever you want to do with these feminine little invitations.
