Description: THE DOOM PUSSY: A narrative about the war in Vietnam and the men who are fighting it by Elaine Shepard. VERY GOOD First Edition unstated, 3d printing, 1967. A former fashion model and actress who became a journalist writes of the American fliers in Vietnam, from those who flew choppers to those who flew bombers, from fighter pilots to spotter pilots. Colorful in its presentation, brisk, brassy, informative, and sometimes saucy. She especially became attached to those who flew over North Vietnam at night, the only fliers entitled to wear the DOOM PUSSY patch, the fliers whose motto was "I have flown into the jaws of the cat of death." Collectible. VERY GOOD First Edition unstated, 3d printing, gently read with lightly age-toned pages and edges very clean and unmarked, with the exception of the first blank page, which has the signature along the top edge of the previous owner. Binding tight with hardboards in excellent condition. Jacket shows wear to corners and edges with 1/2" missing wedge at spine bottom as scanned. No other tears. Scuffing and rubbing, mostly at spine. Not price clipped. Not a remainder. 5.75" x 8.5." Vintage photos, glossary, and text. 300 pgs.
