Spectrum Titanium Super Road Bike Merlin Fabricated Campagnolo Record Mix Gruppo

Description: Spectrum Cycles no longer makes or designs bicycles. The website is up but the principals have all retired. This beauty is from their high point in the early 1990s and was the "Super" Model and built in titanium. This bicycle is a 54 on the top tube and a 56 on the seat tube. I typically ride a 54 and the seat post is set for me, so I would call this a 55 or 56. The frame is Tom Kellogg designed and Merlin brazed. Painted in house, by Spectrum. Top of the line components throughout. Starting at the drive train, it features one of the most beautiful groups ever, Campagnolo eight speed, with Corsa Record cranks 172.5 (52/39) and an eight speed cassette at 11/25. Eight speed is plenty-- in fact, seven speed was plenty of gears but the index shifting at the brakes is very nice to have. The front cockpit features a Corsa Record headset married to a Cinelli stem and Cinelli, Criterium bars. I believe the STS shifters are also Record but are at least Chorus. The seat post may be Chorus but possibly Record, it's deep engraved which follows the Campagnolo theme on this bicycle and looks great. The saddle is a period correct, Concor Light. Brakes are Universal AER aero brakes which were cool at the time, and very light. Wheels are Shamal eight speed with a 11-25 cassette. I remember when these wheels came out and they cost more than all of my friends' bikes put together. Tires are Vittorio Control Comfort Graphene in 25mm size and have many, many miles left on them. It would take you many years to track down these very cool vintage components on this bike, particularly in this condition. This is a very cool bike and perfect for that group ride when you want to stand out on a classic. Dimensions are Center to Center and measured with a tape in centimeters, so not perfect: Top Tube: 54 Seat Tube: 56 Down Tube: 61 Rear Stays: 52 Chain States: 42 Head Tube: 14 (Bottom to top measured).
