Description: An original edition of the 1914 hymnal published by the Church of Christ journal and publishing house Firm Foundation. This copy is in delicate condition. As you can see from the photos, the front cover is very worn and frayed on the edge. The binding is by large staples, and all three are still present. However, at least the back cover is missing, and anything after page 184. The song that begins on that page seems to have continued on the next, but those pages are missing. There are a few pencil marks inside, but not very many. This book has been reprinted and is available in reprint editions for $40-$100. This is an original edition, and although it is in delicate condition, it is a collector’s item, and at a bargain price. If you are an historian, especially of churches of Christ, you may be interested in this book because it shows what rural Texas churches of Christ were singing in the early 20th century. This book apparently came from Hamby, Texas.
