Mano Edition Track Jacket is of a retro design with 80's styling details. This Adidas track jacket features two front zip pockets that you can store small valuables in, a full zip up fastening, leading to a funnel neck collar that is ribbed. There's also ribbing on the waistband and cuffs for a more comfortable and secure fit on the body. To finish the track top features an embroidered 'J. Mano' detail on the left sleeve. This version of the popular 83 style track top comes in Brown and Avocado with Rust details that all compliment the overall look of this rare retro piece. The first launch of the collection 15 years ago saw celebrities such as Robbie Williams, Liam Gallagher and Madonna all support this style. At the time celebrities played a massive part in the launch of the Originals 83-C track top, this was not initially advertised. Rather celebrities were gifted the garment and “captured” wearing it by the style press. The collection is said to have been developed when Adidas designers discovered a track top with 83-C embroidered by hand on the chest and J.Mano on the sleeve. This was found during a thrift store buying trip, after the trip it was discovered that the unknown owner of the top was a humble mechanic from Mexico. This famous 83-C collection was born from the Mexican mechanic who changed tires at a race track called 83-C. Adidas Originals (often stylized as adidas Originals) is a brand of a line of casual and sportswear created by German multinational corporation Adidas. It consists of a heritage line,[1] specializing in athletic shoes, t-shirts, jackets, bags, sunglasses and other accessories. The clothing and the accessories are under such categories as Superstar and Adicolor, designed by Adidas itself. There was also a collection named "Originals Denim" by Diesel, a concept trialled in New York City and Berlin. The famous Trefoil logo, formerly used on all Adidas products, has since 1997 been applied only to heritage products; the Performance logo, which had from 1991 been seen on the "Equipment" range of products, replaced the Trefoil in 1997 across the rest of the Adidas line.[3][4] Adidas Originals covers sports fashion styles with references to the decades between the 1940s and the 1990s. The brand has a distinctively retro old school feel. An extensive campaign was launched in 2008 to promote the label. In October 2017, Adidas Originals opened a new flagship and its largest store worldwide in Wicker Park, Chicago. There are many Adidas Originals Concept Stores around the world (Europe, South America, North America, Asia and Oceania). Adidas had plans to roll out more stores in 2008. In addition in United Kingdom some Adidas stores are located inside of JD Sports stores.[6] In 2014, Adidas Originals announced designer collections with Pharrell[7] and Rita Ora.[8][9] In 2021, Adidas Originals launched its first NFT drop, Into The Metaverse, in collaboration with the Bored Ape Yacht Club, GMoney, and PunksComic creators. Into The Metaverse gave buyers access to limited-edition streetwear and netted more than $22 million within its first day of launch.[10] In 2022, the sportswear brand announced the launch of its digital platform Ozworld which will enable users to create their unique digital personas. In collaboration with Ready Player Me, Adidas will develop an experimental cross-app avatar platform for the metaverse. Users will be able to create animated characters to try and purchase sneakers from the latest Adidas collection. In 2001, a large scale advertising campaign was launched,[12] and during the campaign Adidas released an advert of a house party with people and celebrities,[13] such as Katy Perry and Jeremy Scott, among others. Adidas also launched the All Day I Dream About Sneakers campaign in late 2008. The campaign was an Adidas Originals art project that included the creation of nine unique sneaker sculptures and a fictional story of an avant-garde Adidas designer.[citation needed][14] "All Originals Represent" was introduced in 2012 featuring brand ambassadors Jeremy Scott, 2NE1, Nicki Minaj and Derrick Rose. It focused on the creative spirit specific to unique cities around the globe. In 2016, Adidas Originals introduced the "Celebration of Sportswear", which features celebrities such as Jessica Jung, Jay Park, Tian Yo, Charlene, and Pakho Chau.[15] In 2018, Adidas Originals shared a new promotional film, known as Original Is Never Finished 2018 featuring A$AP Ferg, Playboi Carti, Kaytranada, Adrianne Ho, Dua Lipa, Lu Han, Miles Silvas, Florencia Galarza, Nick Young and Marcelo.[16] Adidas AG (German pronunciation: [ˈʔadiˌdas] ⓘ; stylized in all lowercase since 1949)[4] is a German athletic apparel and footwear corporation headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, Germany. It is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe, and the second largest in the world, after Nike.[5][6] It is the holding company for the Adidas Group, which also owns an 8.33% stake of the football club Bayern München,[7] and Runtastic, an Austrian fitness technology company. Adidas's revenue for 2018 was listed at €21.915 billion.[3] The company was started by Adolf Dassler in his mother's house. He was joined by his elder brother Rudolf in 1924 under the name Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik ("Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory"). Dassler assisted in the development of spiked running shoes (spikes) for multiple athletic events. To enhance the quality of spiked athletic footwear, he transitioned from a previous model of heavy metal spikes to utilising canvas and rubber. Dassler persuaded U.S. sprinter Jesse Owens to use his handmade spikes at the 1936 Summer Olympics. In 1949, following a breakdown in the relationship between the brothers, Adolf created Adidas and Rudolf established Puma, which became Adidas's business rival.[1] The three stripes are Adidas's identity mark, having been used on the company's clothing and shoe designs as a marketing aid. The branding, which Adidas bought in 1952 from Finnish sports company Karhu Sports for the equivalent of €1,600 and two bottles of whiskey,[8][9] became so successful that Dassler described Adidas as "The three stripes company".
