Description: Antique Oak Case Chiming Mantel Clock circa 1882. Sold by S. Bomelstein, Jeweler and Optometrist, 753 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn N.Y. This address would later become Bomelstein's Jewelers and the home of the famous Bomelstein's Jewelers Clock, an officially designated New York City landmark and the only surviving sidewalk clock in Brooklyn, NY. It appears to be an Ansonia #5 1/2 clock movement. The clock is housed in an architectural oak case with a carved pediment above and a pair of columns on the side. A single door on the front encloses a green dial and brass spandrels. The clock chimes on the hour. A true piece of NYC history. 16.5" tall x 13.25" across x 6.75" wide
