Description: Royal Family 1939 - Commemorative Family Visit to Canada Plate By Alfred Meakin England This delightful historical plate carries the portraits of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II's Father King George VI, her Mother Queen Elizabeth (know as The Queen Mother) with their royal flags in the center of the plate. Miniature portraits of the Queen and her sister Princess Margaret Rose are adorning each of the four corners of the plate. The plate was to commemorate the visit of King George VI and family to Canada in 1939. Made by Alfred Meakin and backstamped with Alfred Meakin, Marigold, Astoria Shape. Alfred Meakin England. The plate measures approximately 8 1/2 inches across. The plate is authentic vintage and in good condition, no chips, cracks or crazing that I can see. The portraits of the Queen and Princess Margaret have what appears to be some fading but it seems to be at manufacture as it is below the glaze. This is a fabulous historical treasure and memory of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II family. Please review photos carefully and ask questions before you bid.
