Description: Hello Thank you for your interest in this pair of P-15 Plymouth bumper guards, removed from a totally original, unrestored 1946 convertible coupe.Please refer to the provided photos; they are an important part of the description.Both guards have been hit in service, although they were still firmly attached to the car.Some work with a hammer and a punch can restore the profile around the bolt holes, where you can see how they are pushed inward slightly. The inside surfaces have some rust, and could use a coat of paint.The pair of photos showing bumper guards, as installed on a rear bumper, show the difference between a NOS example, and one of the pair of used items being offered here. One photo shows just an NOS example (not included in this auction) and one photo shows one of those which is being offered, alongside the NOS example. The hazing of the used chrome plating is visible, but the finish is still acceptable for a driver, or to replace a missing part. Note that even the NOS Plymouth chrome, as seen in the photo, is not of the brilliant, show-chrome variety. Plymouth was one of the "low-priced three".There are still marks and striations remaining in the steel, which were not completely polished out at the factory, prior to plating.This is more obvious when installed on a replated bumper. These guards can be installed as is, they can be straightened and used, or they can be straightened and sent out for show chrome, in which case, they would much better match a rechromed bumper, in my opinion.
