Description: For sale is a very special and unique 1995 Marlena H. Nielsen African Girl Doll. Her name is NALO. She is made of fine Porcelain by the Danbury Mint. “Nalo” is around 19 inches tall and is dressed in authentic West African attire, from the Ivory Coast. She holds a traditional wicker basket filled with grain. She is in perfect condition, and has never been removed from the box. She also has the authenticity certificate with her. The artist behind this beauty is Marlena Nielsen, who has been a figurative sculptor since 1989, and as shown in this doll and the other one that I have for sale, OKOLO, she does a wonderful job. She portrays this beautiful young woman with an adorable, gentle and skillfully made expression with great attention to detail. She is hand painted and her clothes are a "lapa", which is her wrap-around skirt, in an intricate pattern native to Western Africa, ..."Her clothing also includes a brilliant blue shirt and redis rope-soled shoes. A wide scarf called a "gele" is wrapped around her head, while beautiful beads circle her graceful neck. Golden hoop earrings provide the perfect finishing touch to her stunning attire"... She is absolutely wonderful, a work of art! See the photos for more detail, or please ask if you need any more, or any information. As I mentioned, I also have OKOLO, also by Marlene Nielsen done by the Danbury Mint. Thanks for shopping!!!
