Description: This listing is for 1 live Iris plant. Blue Flag is a hardy Louisiana bog iris. It can easily grow in water to 5 inches above the roots in an 8 inch or wider container with heavy loam soil. This iris will grow to 18” to 24" tall and has plenty of velvety, indigo color flowers. Blooms from late May to June . A good grower that will spread quickly, hardy zones 3 - 12. Picture 1 shows a Blue Flag irises that bloomed in our pond. The second and third pictures are plant size and shape with full roots and 2-5 bladed foliages. These photos of the plant is for your reference only and is not what you will receive. What you will receive will be similar in size and shape. Note: Some iris with large rhizome will ship bare root. Some marginal plants are grown in 2” net pots and it is recommended that you plant without removing these net pots as not to damage the roots. Plant as you would the lilies, but when adding fertilizer tablets, use 1 tablet for 1 gallon size pots and 2 tablets for 2 or 3 gallon size pots. Marginal plants should be lowered to a depth of only 1 to 3 inches. They grow out of the water and are usually found at the water’s edge.
