In 1571 the Earl of Leicester endowed the hospital as a home for aged soldiers. Prior to this the building was Warwick's guild house. This serving bowl bears the printed backstamp of J&G Meakin, one of England's most renowned ceramic brands. Condition: slight crazing to glaze on bottom. No chips or cracks.
