HIGH TIMES Magazines Lot! FIVE Issues Through the Years! W/Special 420th Issue!!

Description: The magazine that featured marijuana as its main subject, and called 'High Times', began its half century run FIFTY years ago, in June of '74. Hard to believe it's been that long. The founder and the person who created 'HT' was a marijuana reform advocate until his death in '78. (Tom Forade took his own life.) I wish he could be here now to see how important his magazine has been for the legalization and reform movement, and how it's grown and progressed through FIVE decades... In the 70s, 'High Times' was already making a name for themselves. Today we feature a five piece bundle (for the fifty years they've been around), with magazines from different decades, including the 420th special issue! We start with the November '78 issue, with a sketch of President Carter on the cover with a spoon! If you go back and research a bit, you'll find out about a scandal with Carter's chief of staff Hamilton Jordan, who admitted to having "snow days" while partying at Studio 54 in NYC! 'HT' never shyed away from political controversy. Mag looks to be complete, with only a little wear on the cover. Overall, in really good condition for something from 1978! Next up we have the October 1980 issue, with a family sitting down for dinner. Saying Grace while watching TV! And it's a turkey on the tube tonight...these days it would be the same, except everyone would be looking at their phones. They even have an article about Quaaludes, which are no longer made or prescribed, but you can look up info about them. Fun, fun, fun! Issue is complete, with only a little light wear. Looking really good! Then we have the January '82 issue, with an interview with rocker Pat Benatar, and articles about computer addiction (in 1982!), legal highs butyl nitrate, (rush, or poppers), synthetic blow, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), and something called lettuce opium. Wild stuff in the early 80s! The centerfold is a bunch of magic 'shrooms. In really good condition, with a little wear on the cover. Next up is the December 1983 holiday issue with a sketch of Ronald Reagan, as the Grinch who tried to poison Christmas! Lol It's in reference, of course, to fields of green, in Mexico, and then in America, sprayed with a lethal herbicide called paraquat. That too can be looked up. And it was pretty messed up that pot plants were being crop dusted with this crap! The issue is complete, with no pages dog-eared or handwritten on, and no pages ripped or torn. Only a little wear, but nothing bad and hardly noticable. We end with issue FOUR-TWENTY! This one came out in January of 2011. And it was an awesome milestone for the magazine! With a beautiful cover that reflects the light. And a big leaf! The name of the mag and the 420 numbers have silver light reflectors in them, and it was such a special occasion that they wanted to do something memorable. And they really did! Mag is in great condition, and looking fine. Centerfold (of various strains of bud) still intact. Tiny bit of wear, mainly on the cover's corners and spine.
