The chain is a 24-inch gold tone ball/bead chain. The chain's connector is strong and works as designed. The chain can be sized down (cut with a sharp pair of scissors) and/or the connector can be moved to make it shorter. The pendant and chain are all-gold color. Any darker or light areas on them in the pictures are reflections/glare from the surrounding lighting. This necklace should last a while, with proper care, without turning or going dull.
