Several Off-Road and Dual Sport Motorcycles with Fuel Injection Requires a Battery to Initiate the Fuel Pump in Order for the Motorcycle to Start. If the Battery has Low Voltage or Completely Goes Dead, your Motorcycle will not Start even with a Kick Start or Bumb Start. This Capacitor Stores Enough Internal Energy to Keep the Fuel Pump & Other Electronics Powered. You Will Have to Start the Motorcycle Using the Kick Start or Bump Start. (Many newer EFI Motorcycles do not have a Kick Starter.) How to Connection Capacitor: 1. Connect the Negative Black Capacitor Wire to the Negative Battery Terminal. 2. Connect the Positive Red Fused Capacitor Wire to the Positive Battery Terminal. 3. Kick or Bump Start as Needed. This Capacitor is not a Long-Term Solution to a Dead Battery. It is designed to get you back to a Safe Location. If you have a Stator or Voltage Regulator Issue, this Product will not Work. Voltage Needs to be Supplied to the Battery. After Disconnecting the Capacitor from the Battery, you Will Need to Discharge the Capacitor. To Avoid an Electrical Shock, Make Sure you do not Touch the Positive & Negative Connectors. To Discharge the Capacitor, use a 12 Volt Light Bulb to Drain the Energy. We suggest you keep the Capacitor in your Riding Pack or Secure it on the Motorcycle, usually in the Battery Box for Easy Access. Due to the advance Design, you can also connect it Permanently to the Battery and Remove the 10 Amp Blade Fuse and Re-Install the Fuse as Necessary.
