Description: SCROLL DOWN FOR DESCRIPTION, PHOTOS AND TERMS DESCRIPTION: Vintage original photograph, shows group of young people, location identified as "Wild Cat Springs", not sure where this is, but almost certainly Missouri, one of the young women is probably Katherine Jenkins, not sure which one. Information about this photograph is taken from writing on the back, notations in a photo album, or from similar images in the same collection. This photograph is from the collection of Lieutanant Amos T. Hathaway, who resided with his parents at 2411 La Siesta Drive in Bakersfield, California. We have a newspaper clipping which reads as follows: "Mrs. James A. Hathaway, 2411 La Siesta Drive, entertained at a farewell luncheon in honor of Mrs. Amos T. Hathaway, who is leaving this week with her husband, Lieutenant Hathaway, for San Diego. The guests included Mesdames John McElheny, Claude Barnes, Wallace McBride, Harold Troupe, Wooster, Clyde Stokenbury, Rance Allen, Clarence Jenkins, Hal Mishler, Leon Lane, Raymond Crawford and Dr. Mary Owens". We believe that Mrs. Hathaway was Katherine Jenkins of Joplin, Missouri. Many of the photographs of the Jenkins family are from Joplin, Neosho, Elk Springs, Jenkins and Wildcat Springs. Other family names include Knox and Bushnell. Most of the Missouri photos are from 1918 through the early 1920s. Later photos show the Hathaways and their friends in California during the 1920s, including photos of Hollywood and some silent film stars such as Lila Lee, Tommy Meighan and Theodore Roberts. There are also some snapshots of the sets of Robin Hood starring Douglas Fairbanks. Some photos were taken at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, with one featuring Harry Houdini. Lots of interesting locations. A large group of photos were taken on the Huntington Lake Big Creek Hydroelectric Project in Fresno, California, where Amos T. Hathaway apparently spent some time on the job. SIZE/WEIGHT: Approx. 3 1/4" x 2 1/4". CONDITION: VERY GOOD, slight black scrapbook paper on the back.
