Description: The Canadian artist Barbara Joan Wood graduated with a degree in fine arts from the University of Waterloo in 1975. Shortly after, she moved to Vancouver with her husband Don Hazleden, an architect. She lived and worked there for the rest of her life (passed away in 2014). Her favorite medium was pen and ink and watercolor. As the demand for her images grew, she branched out into etchings, which she hand tinted in small limited editions. The full name of this painting is The Royally Restored Empress Hotel, Victoria, B.C. The restoration of the hotel was finished in 1989, so the painting was created probably in 1990. The print (a hand tinted etching, hard signed) is in excellent condiotion, the matting as well. The frame has multiple light scratches, and several tiny chips. The outside dimensions are 18 inches high and 22.5 inches wide. Free local pickup.
