The design on this dress is quite lovely and certainly the design is opulent. There are large starburst rhinestone designs and a profuse amount of beading surrounding the larger starburst design.At the side a pretty addition, 4 circles containing rhinestones. There is a inner silk slip to this dress.Measuring approx. 42-43” long, 14” shoulder to shoulder, 21-22” or more across chest.My thoughts on this dress are that considering all this beadwork that was done on a silk chiffon crepe.. the main part has survived very well.. the damage seems to be on the shoulders and around the arms. Unfortunately it might have been hung up.. which might account for why so much wear there as opposed to the rest of the dress.I have tested other parts of the dress and basically it is pretty remarkable that the fabric is good and strong. So.. damage on shoulders, around sleeves and some on inner slip again near the top part of the dress and I see a missing rhinestone on the circle.The beadwork seems mainly very good.The top part of the slip can be removed or repaired , the bottom slip seems fine. It would be nice if a dressmaker could restore this in some way,otherwise there is so much here to use.
