Description: Fine early California painting by Isabella Frowe Campbell (1874-1968).This painting is oil on canvas affixed to paperboard.It measures 12" by 15 1/2".It has been reframed in this frame at some point and has overall measurements of 13 3/8" by 16 3/4".Portrays pink dogwood in a blue and gray stoneware stein, perhaps German.Signed by the artist lower left: B. FROWE (Bella Frowe) 02 (1902).Frowe married Campbell and was originally from Illinois. She died in Los Angeles where she lived most of her life and was very active in the Southern California painting scene.Known for her floral still lifes, this magnificent composition shows her genius and the influence of three of her teachers, William Merritt Chase, George Demont Otis and Nicolai Fechin.
