Description: Here we have a very early 10" dinner plate in the gorgeous, mid-19th century, brown and polychrome transferware Daisy pattern from Copeland (England.) Dated 1881. Transfer is darker in tone and far more smeared than those on those pieces we have in this pattern that were produced later on, in the early 1900s. Daisy-chain border runs between cocoa brown lattice lines at the rim and the verge, with the central motif consisting of tall sprays of prairie plants and grasses upon which a colorful butterfly has taken shelter. We have many more pieces in this pattern in our store (see photo of the entire collection), to which we add new inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. If the eBay checkout fails to properly combine your orders, we will issue a refund for the difference between what you paid to ship items separately and the actual cost of the combined shipping, on the day that we ship your package. (We don't find out the actual cost of combined shipping until we purchase the shipping label.) Approximate measurements: 10" diameter Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. Very fresh and clean piece, in acceptable antique condition, with two flakes along the top of the rim, in the upper left quadrant. No other chips, and no cracks, silver/gray utensil marks, stains or crazing. Quite a few scattered, very light and completely colorless, scratches to the glaze, the kind that show up when the piece is held up at just the right angle to a very bright source of light. Transfers are more crudely applied than later ones were to the Spode pieces. Scattered transfer speckles to the center of the plate, also the result of less skillful transfer application. Still, a very cool old plate with more character and sense of history than the newer and cleaner ones. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us. The Fine Print: We expect payment within 1 day of purchase. If you're waiting for other auctions to end so that you can combine shipping, shoot us a message to let us know.If you're unable to pay within terms, please reach out with your Plan B. Things happen. Especially these days. So just shoot us a message. We don't accept buyer-remorse returns but we will grant you the use of our description and photos so that you can re-ebay the item yourself.Although we don't accept buyer-remorse returns, reach out if you're unhappy with your purchase! If we messed up -- everybody does -- give us a chance to fix it. We promise it was unintentional, and we'll do what we can to make it right.
